Mr. Winiker represents business clients in complex litigation,contract
disputes, construction claims and corporate healthcare defense. He
defends businesses and individuals in state and federal white collar
criminal cases and investigations. He has represented clients in a
multi-million million dollar class action claim and represented
corporations and individuals in ‘piercing corporate veil’ claims. He also represents businesses who were victims of
fraud.
He has represented clients in Federal District Courts, Federal Courts of Appeal as well as state Superior Courts, Business Court, Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court for North Carolina.
As a former Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Mr. Winiker prosecuted a wide variety of federal crimes, represented federal agencies in civil litigation, and was responsible for tracing and seizing criminal funds nationally and internationally.
He served as an Assistant Director for the Cybercrimes section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Education and coordinated nationwide training on computer forensics, internet fraud, and computerized courtroom presentations and discovery management.
Mr. Winiker is also a former Assistant District Attorney with the Charlotte Mecklenburg District Attorney's Office.
